Pine Island man charged in recent check fraud case

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – A Pine Island man who has been linked to several cases of check fraud was arrested Tuesday in a more recent incident.

A rural Olmsted County couple reported that a thief stole items from their mailbox two weeks ago.

Among the items were envelopes containing checks to pay the bills. They later discovered that payments had been made from their checking account.

A Sheriff’s Department investigator has learned that forged checks using the victims’ account information were written at three Rochester businesses. The investigator was able to identify the suspect as 33-year-old Jordan Alsaker, who faces possible charges in several previous check fraud cases involving nearly $18,000.
