Frank Valcarcel Jr. noticed that the Moose Lodge had nothing planned for the 4th of July. A member of the lodge, he sat down with some of the organizers and event planners and together they decided to create a barbecue fundraiser for Pine Island Elementary, which raised $1,000.

Owner of Franks Bobcat Service, Valcarcel is no stranger to the talent of island business people to serve the needs of the island, including the beloved Pine Island Elementary.

“I went to primary school and all my siblings went to school. I’ve been on the island since I was about 6 months old. I thought it was time to start giving back to the community,” says Valcarcel.

The Moose Lodge is located at 8903 Stringfellow Road, St. James City. For more information about the lodge, call 239-282-0453 or visit
